Dyslexia is a learning disability. People with dyslexia have a problem with the way that information goes in and out of their brain and have to learn in a different way. People who have dyslexia have trouble with reading, writing, spelling, and speaking. They may not hear what other people say correctly. People are usually born with dyslexia. It does not go away, but people can learn to read in a way that will work for them. Usually people who are dyslexic are very smart and creative because they see things in a different way. Sometimes people around them make fun of them because they don't understand. Others may treat them as less capable than they actually are. Teaching people who have dyslexia involves using many senses (hearing, seeing, touching) at the same time. It is best if to have one-on-one help and more time to finish tasks. One of the biggest problems for a person with dyslexia is feeling bad about themselves. Most people who have dyslexia learn to cope with it so that they have happy productive lives.
